Rivian’s all-electric Amazon delivery vans have begun operations in Europe, starting in Munich, Germany. Amazon has plans to introduce more than 300 of these vans across Germany in the coming weeks, serving major European cities such as Munich, Berlin, and Dusseldorf. Rivian’s Vice President of Strategy & Go To Market, Sagan Mishoulam, expressed excitement about the launch, highlighting the vehicle’s focus on driver convenience, safety, and environmental considerations.
The European version of Rivian’s Amazon delivery vans differs slightly from those used in the United States. The European vans are designed to be shorter and thinner, optimizing maneuverability in European cities.
In the second quarter, Rivian reported delivering a total of 12,640 vehicles, including the Amazon delivery vans, the R1T pickup truck, and the R1S SUV. The company will hold an audio webcast on August 8, 2023, to discuss its Q2 2023 financial results.
