Skoda Reports Robust Q2 2023 Sales, Achieves Record-Breaking Growth in All-Electric Car Sales.

Skoda, a brand under Volkswagen Group, reports robust global vehicle sales, reaching about 222,600 units during Q2 2023, a substantial increase of nearly 28 percent compared to the previous year. In the first half of the year, Skoda achieved a year-over-year growth of almost 20 percent, selling a total of 432,200 vehicles. Notably, the brand saw a significant boost in all-electric car sales during Q2, with a 41 percent increase year-over-year, reaching approximately 18,900 units, marking its best quarterly result to date.

Skoda’s electric vehicle (EV) share of the total sales volume improved to 8.5 percent, compared to 7.7 percent a year ago, showcasing positive progress in the EV market. The Skoda Enyaq iV, the brand’s only all-electric model, was a standout performer, selling more than 31,000 units in the first half of 2023, making it the fourth most popular BEV model within the broader Volkswagen Group’s lineup during that period.

Looking ahead, Skoda aims to introduce three completely new all-electric models by 2026, with further expansion in the EV lineup. By 2030, the brand targets a 70 percent BEV share, eventually transitioning to a 100 percent EV portfolio after 2035. These ambitious plans signal Skoda’s commitment to sustainable mobility and its efforts to boost electric vehicle adoption in the coming years.
