Volkswagen Group’s electric vehicle (EV) sales have soared, with a nearly 50% increase in pure electric (BEV) sales in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period last year. The company delivered 321,600 BEVs in the first half of the year, accounting for 7.4% of its overall vehicle deliveries.
Volkswagen Group holds the top position in BEV sales in Europe, surpassing its global sales growth. While China saw a slight decrease in deliveries, there was still an 18% growth in BEV sales in the country during the second quarter. The USA also experienced significant growth, with a 79% increase in sales.
The Volkswagen ID.4/ID.5 emerged as the top-selling BEV model, followed by the Volkswagen ID.3, Audi Q4 e-tron, ŠKODA Enyaq iV, and Audi Q8 e-tron.
Overall, Volkswagen Group’s EV transition continues to progress strongly, particularly in Europe.
